Overview

We are seeking an experienced and analytical Senior Transit Data Analyst to support a confidential public-sector transportation client. This role leads advanced data analysis and reporting initiatives, translating complex transit and operational data into actionable insights that support planning, performance management, and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the collection, analysis, and interpretation of transit, operational, and performance data

• Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and visualizations using Power BI and/or Tableau

• Perform advanced data analysis using SQL to extract, manipulate, and validate data from multiple sources

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for complex data analysis, modeling, and reporting

• Apply GIS tools to analyze spatial and geographic transit data, including routes, service areas, and ridership patterns

• Prepare and deliver clear, executive-level PowerPoint presentations and reports

• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all analytical outputs

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and analytical methodologies

• Mentor junior analysts and support team development

• Contribute to strategic initiatives and special projects

 

Required Qualifications

• Five (5) or more years of experience in a professional data or analytical environment

• Strong proficiency in Excel, including advanced formulas and pivot tables

• Hands-on experience with Power BI and/or Tableau

• Working knowledge of SQL for data querying and analysis

• Experience using GIS tools for spatial analysis and mapping

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities

• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
